Sooo everyone is pretty lame at this. Leave it up to me to rejuvenate it... Again. So BYU is in full swing so that's keeping me busy, as well as my new job! I got a job as a mentor at a boys' ranch for troubled youth. The boys are 13-17 and have become my family away from family. I love going into work and helping these guys become better men. Other than this stuff nothing is really new, still living with the ever-entertaining great grandparents (yes I'm taking care of them settle down) and doin my thing!

Brady at BYU

Well, our family has said goodbye to our eldest. :( I spent most of this week with Brady in Utah. We had dinner with Michelle and Matt, saw Lisa's sister, and hung out with Kevin and Angie and kids. We saw Grandma and 3 (about a 10 minute conversation), and one of the highlights was running errands and pounding grub at the Training Table with Kyle. It was hard to say goodbye in Brady's dorm room--the tears started flowing as I thought of how much Brady has meant to our family. I know he's not dead, but it still feels weird. :) Anyway, we're excited for him to be on his own and begin his college career. Love to everyone on this crazy blog.

Newport Beach Festivities

I don't really have anything exciting to say except that I'm getting married! Just kidding but I do have a date with a guy (who let's just say I'm not sure he likes girls) tomorrow so that seems pretty promising. I probably shouldn't be posting that in a blog in case he reads it - oh well it's not like he knows about this blog. I'm not sure which is worse a gay guy or a pill popper.
I decided to join our stake choir and I am so excited because one of the songs we are singing is Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing (the same arrangement the Mo Tab sings). It gives me chills. And we just found out that a general authority will be there because our stake presidency is getting re-organized. So it will be an amazing experience!
I love the picture of Tanner at the MTC. It's crazy. He's a young man. I know he will be a great missionary. I told him that when he got back I would be married and would have 1 kid. I best!
I'm still looking to buy a house but I really want to stay in my ward so I'm trying to be patient. I found one that I love but an investor swooped it up so hopefully it will be back on the market in the next 30 days.
I can't believe Edge is a dad. Little Chase is so cute! I'm so excited to be his aunt!
I can't wait for the beach! No work for over a week, just relaxing, and laughing. I wish everyone could be there.

If I had to crown a winner in the 'stache-off, I would actually say it was Greg. Considering it was a contest for the filthiest 'stache, Greg wins. His Asian facial hair comes as no coincidence when considering he served his mission in Taiwan - that was where he was taught the art of Asian-staching.

Yosemite was great and when Dad let that mudflapper go, we were all crying. The small European dude was actually excited by the fart as he wafted it toward himself and his girlfriend.

Hi all,
I thought I'd better get some Yosemite/guys trip photos up before the girls upload their NY pics. So, in this photo, we were at a scenic lookout point, and dad had his leg up on a stone wall, supporting my massive binoculars. Standing very close to him was a European guy and his lady. At that exact moment, dad let go one of the loudest farts I've ever heard! People a few miles away on Half Dome almost fell. The euro guy muttered something like, "Damned Americans," and he and his girl left. This was a priceless moment Greg, Adam, and I won't soon forget!

Here's Audrey and I in front of the ride "Wicked" at Lagoon theme park
in salt lake(ish). The cart gets shot up that track which then goes
straight down for a crazy almost freefall feeling. We had an awesome
time hanging out for her birthday and riding all the rollercoasters.
We also went on the sky coaster which is one of those HUGE swings that
pulls you up and you pull the rip cord and go flying! All in all we
had a super fun time! Love everyone!

Paso News

I've missed blogging! Good to hear a little blurb from Kyle and Adam. Well, we finally did it! Dad and I went to Costco and bought us a new TV--and it's awesome. We got a nice Sony 52-in flat screen. Tomorrow we'll get the HD hooked up. Even without being hooked up to HD, it's so much better than the old one. Our neighbor helped Dad get it put up. Now the upstairs is looking good, what with new carpet, paint, TV and soon to be leather recliner. Our 3 days in San Francisco last week were fun. We went to a crazy show that's been ongoing for 40 years there--Beach Blanket Babylon. We also saw Mama Mia and hit some good restaurants, plus a bus tour of the city. The weather was unseasonably warm, too--mid eighties to near 90. Dad's doing a good job of losing weight--ten plus lbs. gone without too much effort--just cutting way down on sugar and smaller portions. So, all of us in the family needing to lose some poundage, let's get serious and get healthy! I'm looking forward to a few weeks at home until our New York trip, which I'm SO excited about--can't wait! Hopefully some pics of Yosemite will be coming to you soon. Dad took some good ones, but hasn't quite figured out how to post them. Let's hear from everyone on the blog! Love Mom

Audrey's Birthday Dinner

called Sakura which is a hibachi table style Asian place... The guy
cooking was a goof but they all are. We also went to the theme park in

We haven't been blogging lately. What gives? Anyway, I haven't posted to Yosemite pics yet, but thay are forthcoming. I will also post some pics of the hike that Corbin and I did this past Saturday - Orderville Canyon in Zion. It was really fun and really hard. I think it was about 13 miles. I started law school and it is going well so far. That's it for now - I'll post pics later.

Good Times at the Mid-State Fair!

The first photo in the show is of Garrett helping Grandpa build a fire for the marshmallows we roasted for Smores on our first night in Bearcat territory. Kids had a blast... a bit too much chocolate however as Garrett's indulgence in at least a full bar and a half kept him, and therefore us, up all night... The show moves on to the pics of us enduring, oh I mean enjoying, the Mid-State Fair! Giddyup and Yeeee Haaaw! Honestly, it was fun for the kids and the 100+ degree heat, well... um.. it's all in the name of love. Seriously, personally we are talking major sacrificing for the love of my children. How do you think Ms. Paranoid feels about the stability of the TEMPORARY carnie rides and the caliber of the operators? But she was on the ferris wheel TWICE! And how about the caliber of the other fair attendees? And the suffocating heat? And the dirt and dust? And a note, the pic of everyone sitting down on a bench - Let me give a couple more location details... the bench is outside the restrooms, to the left of Dad is a long row of porta-potties and to Don's right is a garbage can. Just don't breathe through your mouths folks, at least we have shade. So anyway... we had a fun filled day of fair rides, fair food and fair animal manure! The sideways pic is of Garrett mimicking Don with his hands on his hips... so cute. As far as the rest of the time in Paso, we did not chronicle the trips to the antique stores, or as Olivia referred to them, "grubbage stores", but much fun was had there as well as luck. I found the perfect ribbon cabinet, because yes, I have enough spools of ribbon to require a piece of furniture. Olivia really wanted a typewriter, but was a bit disappointed when I explained that specific ribbon was required, and even I didn't have that kind. We also went down to Morro Bay and the Shell Store and fed the seals. Garrett LOVED the marine life! We had a great time visiting Mom & Dad!

Cabo looked fun from the pictures, but I bet it was more fun in person. Yep, it was - I know because I was there. It was relaxing and awesome, Luke and I actually played tennis everyday so we got some exercise. We had a really great time there. We look forward to going back. Although, I did get Montezuma's revenge this time. I thought that I was impervious to it after my mission and the fact that this was my 4th time in Mexico - but it may be tied to my stomach problems. I guess next time I will have to better about circumnavigating.

And next week is our father and son's adventure! We are all growing out our 'staches to commemorate the occasion. We will take pictures of those so stay tuned.

Mason, Audrey, and myself went and saw the new Batman this weekend. It was awesome!! Anyone who hasn't seen it yet should go as soon as possible. It is really good and Heath Ledger is really creepy as the joker. Wouldn't recommend for younger kids. Nebraska was really awesome as well. I met so many cool people and some people who will be key in helping me get in to dental school in a year or so. Everyone keep posting! I reallly enjoyed the recent blogs and pics. Everybody, keep them coming! Our trip to Reno for the sealing and ring ceremony of one of our 3rd ward couples was awesome. We enjoyed the family visits (Andrea and fam and Grant and fam). Grant has a sweet new office, and he and dad spent part of one day installing a large pull-down screen and whiteboard in one of the rooms there. Our trips continue--tomorrow bright and early we leave for SLC for the class reunion on Saturday. The 4th should be fun at Kevin and Angie's, although I'll miss seeing our family there. Last week we went south for dad's business and I enjoyed my time at Alison's. There were lots of preparations going on for Isabella's birthday party last Friday. I'm sure it was a success. Andrea, how was Hawaii? I'm sure you'll be posting about your trip. Not much news. Love to you all. Mom

Nebraska Update

So today was totally awesome! We got to go to the Omaha Zoo, which is the second best in the nation (to San Diego's) and we saw some pretty wild animals. The big guys from the foundation that funds this program nation-wide came to visit us and said (although they may say this to everyone) that in the 20 years one of the guys has been doing site visits ours was the best one yet. In our quest to get rid of the Tahoe (Awesome), and get something more fuel efficient (wah waaah), I came across one of the most beautiful cars of all time. The 1996 (yes '96 not '86) Buick Roadmaster Estate:

How come they don't make these wonderful family haulers anymore?! Gosh, I bet it gets great gas mileage too. Although, Michelle and I would be fighting over who gets to drive it. I bet if Natalie met a guy who was rolling in one of these, she'd instantly be in love. I don't think anyone could make this car cooler. And you know what? . . . . I'm pretty sure Steve Stevenson drives one of these.

Adam's Stomach Stuff

I went to the doctor's today and they said that maybe I am just a little too sexy for my stomach - which is why it is rebelling against me. No, they said that the blood tests and the ultrasound didn't turn anything up. So I will schedule an appointment for an endoscopy in order to see what the deal is. At least I am losing weight because my stomach hurts more if I eat more. So I am consuming about 800 to 1000 calories a day which is resulting in rapid weight loss. I am losing like 10 lbs. per week. I can't wait to be able to eat again so I can get back up to my ideal weight of 450 lbs! Psych! Maybe my body is just imposing a dieting mechanism. Thanks for your concern and prayers.

Some Fine Points of NE

I would like to first let everyone admire the stereotypical Nebraska native that is our bus driver, his name is Rick. Take a minute to let that soak in with all it's glory and beauty. Ok, now on to the good stuff. Second pic is myself taking impressions of another student here from cali with the aid of a first year dental student. The third is my bowling team that dominated at, you guessed it, West Lanes in Omaha, NE. And last but certainly not least is the gang (my gang) at the College World Series watching Gerogia come back in the 8th inning to pull off a 4-3 victory over Stanford. Well I'm having so much fun here it should be illegal in such a territory known as Puerto Rico. I was going through all the pictures I have here just after three weeks and can honestly say that although it will be good to be home, I will truly miss this place and all the aweosme people I've met, experience of a lifetime.

I just got done doing my workout..we also have P90X! we've had it for a while and i've lost about 20 pounds!! Not much new that my mom probably hasn't updated you on i'm sure, mostly wedding stuff. i'm going to start school again in september, 600 more hours then i'll be able to take my master esthetician test! Ryan also starts school in august. Our plan is to move to Vegas next summer although my parents are not to thrilled about it. Jaylon is having his tear duct procedure done on the 25th so no more goopy eye!! i'm a little nervous because they have to put him out but grandpa gave him a blessing so i know he'll be fine. Not much else going on with us Jaylon is just getting big and has quite the personality. Love you all.

Yesterday was a special day as it was the first time I ever spent over $40 fillin' up my tiny gas tank in the Civic. I think I put in like 9.6 gallons and it was like $40.44!! Yay. The bright side? I do get 29 mpg around the city even with the AC on. Our Tahoe is a different story, but that thing has been seeing a lot of garage time lately.

Mom and Dad just left yesterday after a long Utah-Vegas tour. It was fun having them around. I tried, but I couldn't find any sweatshop work for Mom to do. Dad hung out at the strip one night with Bob Ball and he didn't come home until like 6:30 the next morning. But I'm sure he had fun. They made the long trip for Matt and Tanner's respective graduations. Congratulations to both of you fellas!

Alison, where are the pics of the liquid poop extravaganza? I don't know if I believe the whole stroy without some evidence. Also, Garrett's pose would be painful for the man bits especially if the concrete was cold.

Kyle looks like he's having a good time. That will be a really good experience. Hopefully Kyle doesn't get hurt by one of the 473 daily tornados - the weather back there is craysay! Well, that's it from here. Love to all!!

Now I'm not a man, but I can't think this would be comfortable... This little nudity was due to strippage necessecitated by huge liquid poop extravaganza. Fortunately we were outside and Garrett was standing, otherwise... YOWZA! As it was, I have to give kudos to Crocs. So many conveniences associated with these little rubber shoes, including a runny poop catcher. Down the leg and into the shoe where it stays until you hose it off. It's the simple things... It was Isabella's last day of 1st grade today. The girls are swimming right now as it is finally a beautiful day... swimming, fighting, swimming, fighting... this is going to be a long summer, but at least I have a break from homework assignments. That would be the homework I have to nag her to do and the homework I have to do for her. See below my recent assignment. She (translation me) was to make a box car for a drive-in movie. The child had to be able to carry it themselves and to sit in it during the movie. My friend told me that some parents really get into it... um yes that would be the parents that made the car with a seat and wheels that really rolled and then of course Isabella's friend's father is an engineer so the lights on her car really worked. So much for my tulle covered wrapping paper tubes that served as bumpers.

This is little Olivia receiving her gold medal following her performance at Little Gym. She is verrrry excited about it. As well she should be. The skill and level of difficulty... I thought for a moment I was in China. Can it be? Am I at the Olympics? But seriously, it is so adorable to see her get so excited. I am especially excited because we get to go to Isabella's performance today. But before that I must tend to my garden. That would be the tomato plants and various other vegetables we planted yesterday. I am gettin all prepared so I shant be fearin. I've been working on my food storage, ok, "thinking about working on it", "working on it", however you want to put it, anyway, Lisa came and stayed for a few days and got me all motivated so I'm gettin on it. Must run and do my most favoritest thing in the whole wide world... LAUNDRY!

BLS Training

These are some pictures from BLS training, basic life support. We learned how to administer CPR using mouth to mouth, breathing barriers, and breathing bags on adults, children, and infants. We also learned how to use AED, (I think they're called automated electircal devices) but anyway I now have a little card that says I am and efficient healthcare provider and can administer certain life-saving procedures, so the family is in luck!

Yea! I love seeing all the posting! It really is cool to hear from everyone and see pics. Kyle I'm glad you're having a good 'ol time. Aren't the storms awesome!? I loved thunderstorms-I miss them. When I saw Carson's pic I started laughing so hard thinking about that one time in Paso when Grant was getting slightly annoyed because tyler wouldn't pull his tooth out and it was hanging by a thread, so he tid a string to it, but told he would NOT pull it, but he did anyway (what kind of psychological impact did that have on him Grant? Tell Leslie to open up a slot so he can discuss it with her) and it didn't come out!!!! Tyler was NOT happy. So I guess that's pretty mean that I was laughing, but i'm laughing right now as I type this. So we're enjoying the summer, Gabrielle has been in swimming lessons and she's doing really well. Luke is officially up and running in his new office. Cal is liking going to the pool too and that's about it. Nothing really new with me-I'm enjoying all the little things, the sun, hanging out with my friends at the gym/pool, getting ready to go to Hawaii in less than 2 weeks with Luke's family-that will be fun. Some explanation for the pics. Gabrielle was doing socks on her hands for a while, and wearing my silky blue sash for a while, her newest thing is wearing my little apron that just goes around your waist, but wearing it as a skirt, she wore it to the gym today-I'll get a pic soon-when she first put it on she said, "OOH I look like a stepmother!". Hi all! In-laws are aloud to blog too...right?? :) Kidding! Carson lost his first tooth last night and it was so funny! Brady and I were trying to tie a piece of dental floss around his loose tooth so he could tug on it to get it out. When I was trying to tighten the knot, it popped out! It didn't hurt and barely bled, he was very worried about that...but here is a pic...enjoy Kyle!! :) Plus, the other photo is of him taking the sharpie to his toilet seat and permanently writing in the alphabet or whatever message he intended...on the toilet seat!?!? Goofy kid, I had to try hard not to laugh when I was scolding him. Too cute to pass up, will end up in a scrapbook somewhere. One final cute photo of Gabrielle, Carson, and Cal from a while ago when they were over for dinner...Carson loves his cousins!

Other than that, we're just hanging out for the summer, nothing too crazy. Grant is excited to be in his new office and getting it all setup! It's nice that he's able to charge higher rates now that he's licensed too!

And more motorcycle stuff, honestly? I understand the light-hearted nature of it, but please stop. I will let all of you read my PB and it will show that everything is not rendered moot by my purchase and use of a motorcycle. There is no language in my PB that says I am entitled to receive all those blessings unless I ride a motorcycle. I think Heavenly Father's divine protection can extend to motorcycle riders - gasp! - what thought! So, seriously, no more. If it continues, I may just have to blog about others' stupid decisions in their lives. Do we want to go there? No, but everyone knows I will, everyone has made decisions far dumber than using a motorcycle, and so I never want to hear another word about it. If I get crippled in a motorcycle wreck, then you can tell me I-told-you-so for the rest of my life. If I die in a motorcycle wreck, you can say I-told-you-so at my funeral. Point being: life's dangerous i.e. obesity leads to heart disease (the #1 killer in America), guns can kill people, people die in car wrecks everyday in your cities and states, but we still eat crappy foods, drive our cars everyday, and I shoot guns all day everyday.

I don't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers, but I just wanted to get my point across. If you have any questions, feel free to call me and make your arguments just know that it is a losing argument.

Airport Fun!

Since we all know that everyone that works at the airport is hired because they are top of their special ed class, I was "too late" to check in for my flight, even though I didn't leave for over a half hour. I am now sitting at the Las Vegas McCarren Airport (don't care how it's spelled) on standby just hoping I get on a flight to Denver and then on a flight to Omaha, Yay anti-terrorist efforts! I told the lady at the counter that since she didn't let me hurry to my flight I had no choice but to pull out my illegal nail clipper and stab her a few times. Just for fun (and the fact that I had two hours til my "maybe" flight) I got stark naked at the security gate. They got the point and no longer make anyone take their shoes and belts off nation-wide, only international flights which I understand, I'm so glad we have the right to protest. Well this is it I guess, off to Nebraska to take classes for no credit and follow dentist that are retiring next year, all for zero school credit, just to boost my resume. Well it felt good to post so quit your B'in and M'in (that's slang for bitchin and moanin)

Cal has been lovin Luke's iphone for a long time now. It's crazy the way he can navigate through all the pages and links etc. A few weeks ago he was on youtube and somehow marked a video as a favorite. Now when he gets a hold of the phone he knows how to get to it. I had never watched it before, but he was always laughing at it so I decided to watch it. I am looking forward to a few weeks away from work and the YSA ward. It seems like all I have been doing the last three weeks is preparing for or giving a presentation of some kind at work and church, interviewing YSA's, interviewing YSA's and interviewing YSA's. Plus I am trying to find my Provo High classmates for our 50th reunion. I even have a committee meeting when we are in Provo next week. Today I gave the same presentation on our 401(k) to 7 different groups. Half the time I am looking at faces that are saying "what is interest and how do you compound it?" Mom and I went to see Iron Man. It was good. The theater was almost empty, everyone else was in line waiting to see Indiana Jones with two theater showings at the Paso 7Megaplex. Mom and I worked in the backyard Monday planting flowers but we really paid for it later. After we were talking about how we used to be able to work all day and still walk without the help of Alieve. I have started a new exercise program. It is called the RUTWTV/WDTGP workout. It is really helping my cardio. OK, that is all I can muster for a blog tonight. I have to figure out how to find an ecclesiastical endorsement that BYU lost and the young lady is in Thailand and they wouldn't take an oral endorsement from the stake president and the girls father has called me to see what I can do. The young couple I will be doing a ring ceremony for in Reno just called to say that the stake president isn't at the church building to give them their temple recommend interview which they need because they are on their way to San Antonio tomorrow for her endowment. For the record i've blogged more than once... I had a primary project that spun out of control and threatened to take over my life, but I am out of the woods and learning, ever so slowly, to not be such a perfectionist. Currently Don and I are in Tucson sans the kids so I am taking the time to update on the goings on of the Don Kenney fam before I head down to the pool and then onto the spa for the afternoon. Let's see... Garrett will start speech therapy next week. While his lack of communication can be frustrating, I'm not sure I want him to begin talking, I'd like him to stay my baby for just a bit longer. My baby with an AWESOME golf swing. His form keeps getting better & better:) Now Isabella's baseball form could use some improvement, which Grandpa Russ tried to help her with last time he was visiting and to his suggestions she said "What do you know? You're old." Nice respect for your elders kid, in China you'd be put to death for a comment like that. We are trying to help her understand that while we want her to feel confident speaking her mind, she needs FILTERS. She is crossing over from little girl to little girl that wants to be a hot, cool, big girl, telling me that she won't wear her helmet as she flies down the driveway on her scooter because it looks weird and asking me if she can call her friend on the phone to talk. She already has a marriage invitation from Ethan, and Nicolas has informed her that in the event of Ethan's demise or relocation he would take the job as husband. Dream on boys. The over-the-top primary project I mentioned is an Articles of Faith memorization program. I am very proud to say that Olivia has passed off number one and is working on her second. While far less dramatic than her older sister, I am constantly reminded that her more calm demeanor doesn't mean she isn't paying attention. Her whining is off the charts right now, but when she tells me she loves me to Jesus and back it doesn't seem so bad. The sun is calling! TTFN

Soda Cozy-keeps my hands warm and my soda cold-awesome (These do remind me of something that my friends' parents would have in Sun Prairie-along with crystal wizard figurines and posters of WWF wrestlers). So we went camping in Gualala River Redwood Park-beautiful, lush, cold, dirty, fun, good food, and lots of fun with friends. We rented and RV which was nice. It was hard enough for me to take the plunge and go camping with kids, but if I had to do it in a tent-it wouldn't have happened. Gabrielle had so much fun-I hardly saw her. Cal was loving it too. My favorite parts were riding my bike and talking around the fire after the kids went to bed. We went with 5 other families. One of the guys there is Arnold's Travel chief of staff. He said that Arnold hits the bike everyday and lifts 3 times a week. He also said that there has been a little tension on the homefront because of the whole Arnold/Bobby Shriver airport thing. So nice to see everyone blogging! Luke has to start up P90x again tonight now that we're back. He gets very sweaty-especially when he really x's it out! you guys should post your before pics on here. I was working at the temple Saturday morning - I was assigned to foyer greeter and in walks Sen. Harry Reid. Say what! The computer at the recommend desk must not have been working because they let him in. It was good to hear from Michelle and Grant. Grant, you are right Greg still has not posted a blog. And I think Alison and Dad have only posted once. I hope they at least read them. Come on people. I have been sick the past couple of days with a bad cold. So that kind of sucked for my Memorial Day weekend. Oh well what can you do. At least I did not have to miss work. Way to go you P90X-ers. Can't wait to see you look like the dude on the DVD.

For those of you that got my text - the wedding date has changed - it's now August 16. So guess what I'll be spending all my free time doing this summer? Matt was promoted to Asst. Mgr. at Kneaders so he'll be busy for the next few months. Maggie is working there too. I've been watching Jaylon on the days that she works. It's been a lot of fun. At least I've posted--has Gregory done one--I didn't think so. :) Wallace, great to hear that you're not planning on killing yourself. I'll be honest, I'm not going to have time to attend any funerals this year, so keep on livin' people (I'd probably go to grandma or grandpa's). I talked to Adam and I've also purchased the P90X290LbsShredderProgram. I've got about 65 "vanity pounds" that I'd like to take off, so here we go! Yes, I did talk to Adam about the dangers of motorcycle riding--that it's dangerous and scary and that bad things happen to good people when they get hit by cars while riding them. So, he's committed to me secretly to never go near a motorcyle again--he doesn't know it, but I also hypnotized him on the phone that day, so it's all good. What's up with Corbin's Obama emails? I haven't seen him this passionate about a cause since 'Teen Angel' was canceled and he went postal on the studio big wigs. Anyway, I'll be purchasing my gun before November, because gun rights will be gone if Obama wins. Also, I suggest everyone rent and watch "Roots" again because it's the cotton fields for "whitey" when Osama takes the oval. :) I really don't believe that we'll be slaves, but stranger things have happened. (like what?) Life is good here. The boys just finished school today, and Carson had his pre-school graduation. So, even if Carson turns to a life of drugs and street living, at least I can say that he graduated from "something." Lisa and I are taking Brady and Ty to Hawaii (or Mexico) in July, and Lisa's sister Ellen will be coming out to watch Karch and Ethan. The older boys deserve some alone time with us. Ethan has been doing really well with his behavior the past month or so. We really think the worms from Thailand are helping (seriously). Now, if we can just get him to stop digging into his diaper and pulling out poop and spreading it on the walls and any furntiture within reach, we will have conquered all! It was good to see mama up here last week. And what's weird is that out of the blue she said, "Grant, here's a check for $10,000 for being my favorite child." Go figure! Love you all, Grant.

Obviously I wasn't serious about killing myself. I went to a kickboxing class last night and it was quite a workout! I am sore today. I learned some awesome kicks. They are not as awesome as Adam's kicks so I will have to practice. I am so glad it is Friday (except for some curious reason Ron decides to work on Fridays - hardly any other days of the week - just today when he knows I am the only one here). Hopefully, in about four months I won't have to worry about that anymore. He is supposed to be out of here. The office atmosphere will improve 110% when he is gone. Woo hoo! I don't have any plans for Memorial Day weekend. Just looking forward to having an extra day to sleep in, clean, and circumnavigate. And then I am going to Greg and Jamie's on Monday for a barbeque and to see Kyle before he leaves for Nebraska. Mom, you have to keep your skills sharp for when I have a house so you can help decorate and sew for me. I can't believe how many trips you have scheduled. Can't wait to see Mom & Dad in a few weeks!

News from Las Vegas

I feel like I need to blog again to make up for the lost time from before. I saw the new Chronicles of Narnia movie and thought it was very good - I just wish that Mr. Tumnus was in it. Michelle got back from her trip to NYC and said that she had a really good time and she already wants to go back. She did a lot with little time and took muitas fotos. I just niddled while she was gone; I read a couple books, designed another house and did some general circumnavigating. I also "brought it" while doing my P90X workout. There is one session that is called plyometrics which means jump training. That workout has made me capable of empathizing with women who need sports bras - I feel like I need a sports bra and a corset to hold myself together while doing all the jumping! But the workouts are working!

Also, Mom, I don't think Nat was serious about killing herself so don't worry. She's been going to lots of the hottest, hippest Las Vegas clubs and bars just to try and find Mr. Right and I think that this will be her year!

As for American Idol, I don't care that much other than I got so sick of people saying, "I can promise that the winner's name will be David." I even heard it again today and almost stabbed myself in the ears just so I would never hear it again. That joke was not even funny the first time let alone the 37,422,139th time. So I hope none of you used it and if you did, shame on you. However, I am excited for So You Think You Can Dance or SYTYCD as I like to call it. That show starts tonight and I think it is way cooler than Idol. You should give it a go if you haven't ever watched because the stuff that those dancers can do blows my mind.

That's pretty much it other than I get ever more scared for this nation as I listen to/ponder political stuff. So I think I'll just bury my head in the sand and pretend that everything's okay until it reaches the tipping point and there's nothing we can do. Yay ignorance!

It's such fun hearing from you all on the blog, except for natalie's comment a bout killing herself! (natalie, I'm meeting with some old high school friends in Utah so I'll definitely ask them about any guys they might know!) We had a good time in Palm Springs. The shopping is great and the weather wasn't too hot. Last week my time in Sac town was fun, but tiring! It was worth it to help Andrea and the best was hearing that Gabrielle loves her pink room, saying "it's the color of love". Carson had an awesome 5th birthday party while I was there. 17 5-yr olds all talking and screaming at the same time. He got more star wars stuff than he'll ever know what to do with. It was Brady's birthday, too, but he played it cool and just had a family celebration with a guys only party Sat night. Dad's in Tustin today--flew down from Paso this morning and back late tonight. We're looking forward to our first Utah trip, leaving here June 2 and driving straight to Herriman for Matt's graduation on the 3rd. We'll be there a few days and then to Vegas for Tanner's on the 13th. We'll be home less than a week and then back to Grant's on the 20th for a quick trip to the Reno temple for a sealing of a couple from our ward. Dad is doing a ring ceremony after and then we'll drive back to Grant's, going home on Sunday or Monday. Everyone take care--I love you. Mom

Finally people! I can't believe how long everyone (and by everyone I mean Adam & Andrea) waited to blog. I am going to get my workout on also. I joined a new gym that just opened up only five minutes away from my house. I really want to be healthy and get in shape before I get married this year. 2008 is my year! (If not I'm going to kill myself). Not much else is going on in Vegas. I saw Baby Mama last night. I thought it was funny and it even had a cute story. Just enjoying some down time at work. I'm so excited to go to New York in September! That is the only vacation I have planned so far. It would be nice to hear from the rest of the family so we know what is going on with you.

It has been a long while for me - sorry about that. I just finished my first year of law school last Thursday!! Boy was that a tough year! I have never done something that was so intellectually challenging. I am SO glad to be done!

I also started a new workout routine (I know- same old story) which I am really enjoying. It is very hard, but I am already feeling and seeing results after only 2.5 weeks. It is called P90X and it's from beachbody.com. Luke is also starting it so we should be mighty sexy for our Cabo trip!

Michelle is in NYC right now with her mom and Jake. He just graduated magna cum laude fro U of Hartford majoring in Theater with a minor in English. I couldn't go because I had a lame meeting on Monday for my summer externship. But I did take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation class over the weekend and got my motorcycle license. I now long for the day when I will actually own a motorcycle. Also, I sincerely appreciate everyone's concern for my safety; I kind of got after Grant for expressing his concerns for which I am sorry - I am glad to be part of a such a caring family. However, I am not soliciting advice on how dangerous motorcycles are (especially because I don't even have one). Consider Grant's advice representative for everyone else's. Also, if I do end up riding I will get safety gear made out of you-know-what so I will be totally fine.

Lastly, Andrea, try editing your posts before hand because I could hardly understand parts of it.

ok this is getting crazy-it's like when no one gets up at testimony meeting. We are moved in and since we have been here we have had nonstop visitors (which is a good thing) Alison (whose talents are endless), Tina(who is so fun eventhough it's been almost 2nyrs it's like 2 days), and last but no least-Mom (again a lot in the talent department). My house has been transformed thanks to Alison and Mom. I feel super lazy because mom, (the one with back and leg problems and in her high 60's) is the one saying, "ok cmon let's get to home depot" "oh we should paint Gabrielle's room too". I'm like the little kid acting as if I'm being dragged around. Anyway I am very grateful to you guys for all you've done. Luke and I got callings yesterday-Luke is a ward missionary and I'm a Sunday school teacher (He said 14 yr olds, but he's not sure). I'm glad we got callings right away so we don't get to comfortable. Me, Luke, Adam, and Michelle are going to Mexico in July!!!!!! I am SO excited. Luke and I have never been away since our honeymoon. It's going to be a lot of fun going with Adam and Michelle-I'm scared/excited to see what awkward situation Adam will put us in with the locals i.e. passing gas next to people and yelling something out in spanish with his "steven" accent. gotta go Cal discfg vovered me!

Huntington Beach Weekend

I just got back from the mid-singles conference in Huntington Beach and I had a good time. I appreciate everyone's prayers in my behalf. It means so much to me to know how much everyone cares and wants me to find my eternal companion just as much as I want to find him. It gives me hope (which makes sense because that was the theme of the conference - along with a scripture of course) that there are normal and cute guys out there. I participated in three rounds of speed dating and didn't meet anyone that caught my eye, but it was actually a lot of fun. I felt like I was somewhat hindered by the girls that I went with because they weren't exactly my type. Imagine a girl dancing all by herself in front of the speaker spinning around, bouncing and flipping her hair and doing this almost all night. That was one of the girls that I went with. But hey at least they got me there. If it wasn't for them I would not have gone. There were 1400 mid-singles there. That is how large our sacrament meeting was. One guy that I thought was cute I found on LDS linkup so I am going to email him. Then I went to Don and Alison's Sunday night and stayed until Monday night. It was fun to see them and the kids. Garrett kept calling me Mom - it was pretty funny. Olivia told me I have a big nose so now I'm definitely getting rhinoplasty. Michelle and I went and watched Adam in moot court last week. It felt so serious and real and Michelle forgot to stand up for the judges so she almost got kicked out. Just kidding. Adam was awesome! He will make a great attorney.

DCFC Concert + Other Stuff

WE just went and saw the Death Cab for Cutie (they are an indie rock band) concert tonight and it was amazing! It was definitely the 2nd best concert I have ever been to (U2 is my favorite band of all-time and thus my favorite concert). They played at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel. The set list was awesome and their performance and energy were great! We went with Daniel and Brittney and had a great time. Good concerts always lift my spirits for some time afterward which is good because finals are coming up soon. Also, I advanced to the next round of the moot court competition at my school. Moot court is basically pretend court. And in the next round, I have to argue for the opposite side of what I argued the first time. So I have to prepare for that and prepare for finals at the same time - and law school finals are incredibly difficult and I get nervous diarrhea just thinking about them (I know, that's not the nicest image, but A) I didn't ask you to imagine it; and B) I wanted to put the nervousness into perspective) Thanks, bye.

Our house smells! We've had painters here the last three days painting ceilings, doors(15) and woodwork, using oil paint. They'll be here again in a few minutes and will hopefully finish up today. I started my water exercise class last week after not going for over a year due to the pool being refurbished. It's good to be back in the water again. Our trip to Sacramento over conference weekend was fun. We stayed at Andrea's, spent time at Grant's, and enjoyed our time with both families. For some reason the kids just keep growing! Ethan seemed to take to me a lot and was always coming to me, hugging me and smiling. I loved it. He also scared me a little. I'll explain. The guys were at priesthood meeting sat. night and Andrea was in the hot tub with Gabrielle, Cal, Carson and Ethan. I was not in the water, but watching them. Ethan kept teasing us with acting like he was trying to get into the main pool (which was cold!) He'd try to get in, with Andrea and Carson trying to keep him in the hot tub. Finally, he did jump in the pool. And of course he loved it, but I was worried about the water being too cold. Oh, and Lisa had just run a quick errand. Try as we did, we couldn't get him to come out, but when Lisa came back, he just got right out. I guess it doesn't sound as scary as it was. Carson was genuinely concerned for his big brother and did not want him to get in the pool. Cal is amazing with hiw knowledge of the ABC's and the sounds they make. He knows every one. Gabrielle has such an imagination and it was fun "playing" different things with her. Then last weekend (Fri and Sat) we drove up to San Bruno, near San Fran, to see Tanner and Mason play lacrosse. Greg is one of the coaches so we saw him, too. Their team is awesome, it's nationally ranked, and the boys both played well and scored several points. The only downside was that we didn't get to spend enough time with them. And oh, it was hot--90 deg. And that is hot for that area. Our next outing will be the end of the month when we'll go to Alison's for a day and night(not long enough) and then on to Palm Springs for an ISSAC board meeting for three days. Max has been in the hospital the last few days for heart irregularity and breathing problems, although he is at home now. He's doing fine but has to be on oxygen fulltime. Matt is taking a ballroom dance class (fine arts credit/cute girls), anyway for extra credit he could go to a performance of the BYU ballroom dance team. Congrats Grant on passing the test! Awesome! Andrea mentioned a mid singles conference I am attending at the end of this month. It is in Huntington Beach April 25-27. It is for ages 30-40. I am going with a girl I work with at the temple and her friend. I really hope and pray I will meet the person I want to marry at this conference. Since my patriarchal blessing says - through the various singles programs of the church I will find the person I will want as my eternal companion. So if everyone would keep me in their prayers that would be great and hopefully I will have something good to report after that weekend.

General Conference

We had a wonderful weekend watching conference. I really enjoyed Priesthood Session and being able to hear President Monson speak. You can tell the difference when the mantle of Prophet is newly placed on someone. I really enjoyed it and now feel more edified. I hope that everyone felt the same.

BTWPSFMFAF: I did get that externship with Judge Allen Earl and will be working there this summer. I am pretty excited because the endoscopy center cases will go through that office. If you don't know about the endoscopy center cases, it was basically that the employees were re-usisng needles that had been used on patients with HIV and Hep C so that some other people were lucky enough to get infected! But when those cases come in, I won't be able to say anything more so please don't ask me.

Well-for those of you who haven't heard-Grant passed his test!! He is a real life therapist! And he is a CSAT (Certified sex addiction therapist). Woo hoo bring on the pervs! (i'm kidding I know yo're not a perv Don). Anyway that's good-now Lisa can go back to sleeping in her own bed rather than with Ethan so Grant can get his sleep for studying. I'm really excited because Tina is coming to visit in May-I haven't seen her in almost 2 yrs. Michelle I posted that it was a "Wiseman weekend"-Kyle got lucky cause he was in route to Wiseman festivities-and it took me 5 minutes to figure out what BTW stands for, what happened to P.S.? Back in the Groove!

After spending 7 days with Alison's family in Cabo I am back into the normal routine. We had a good time but I'm not sure how soon I will eat Mexican food again! Spencer's thumb is healing nicely and it looks like he will not lose the soft tissue after all. For those of you who don't know, Spencer tried to cut the pad of his thumb off with an exacto knife, 11 stitches later... It was 60 degrees here today but the forecast is for rain and more snow in the mountains. Matt went boarding on Wednesday and the snow was great. My tulips are starting to come up, which is a major accomplishment for someone who has never planted flowers before. Ryan and Maggie are settling in. He got his CDL permit and he just has to pass the driving test. Jaylon is so much fun. He is always so happy.

BTW: Next time my siblings come to town and don't call I might just start taking it personally.

hello-Mom thank you for your post. I am so grateful for your and Dad's testimonies and example-I know it is what sustained me through "times". I truly consider myself blessed to have been born into your home. I will be seeing you in a couple of hours since you and Dad are coming to visit. We're going out to dinner tonight with mom, dad, Grant and Lisa-hopefully we'll be celebrating Grant passing his test today!! It's like a 50% pass rate and he'll have to wait 6 months to take it again-yikes!! We were in Utah last weekend for Aidan's baptism. We were only ther fri night through mon with an all Wiseman agenda. I did see Kyle and audrey though cause she lives like 1/2 mile from our hotel. Gabrielle had fun playing the Wii-as you can see. She was boxing Kyle and bowling. She was also so excited about the snow. She cam in on Sun morn and woke us up saying, "mommy I think it snowed! Ican't believe this is happening to my life!!" She wanted to do snow angels, but that wasn't going to happen without snow pants so she settled for snowballs. 2 things that have been cemented into my head since this trip-1 I hate traveling with kids-just a big fat pain (sleep schedule jacked, eating crappy food, no toys to play with, no break, and wrestling cal so that he won't get down and jump on everything in the airport) 2 I hate the snow and cold-I am destined to live in houses with no character because I can't ever live in the cold. Love you guys!

Mother's Testimony

After attending Fast and Testimony meeting today, and thinking of all my many blessings, I felt that I wanted to let my family know just how much you all mean to me, and also of my love for the gospel and for our Savior. When I think that I was blessed with seven wonderful children I can sometimes hardly believe it. And then added to you seven, your spouses and children and grandchild, all of whom hold a special place in my heart. I think of you all, individually by name, and you are each wonderful to me. I enjoy the perspective of where I'm at now--looking back over my life thus far. The blessings are just immeasurable! When Dad and I were first dating, I felt that he was a very special person and had qualities that I would come to admire. He hasn't disappointed me! Listening to him today during the 5th Sunday 3rd hour, I was truly in awe of his abilities and his testimony. Of course, we all know the history, but as each of you children came into our family, we were that much more enriched as a family. And that process will continue to grow. Last week a lady asked me if all of my children were active in the church, and I proudly said YES! I didn't feel boastful, but just grateful--grateful that all of you have kept your covenants and continue to do so--that you're teaching the next generation also to do what is right and to love the Lord. Thank you to ALL OF YOU for the privilege and blessing of being your mother. Of course, none of the above would be possible if it weren't for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My gratitude knows no bounds for the blessings of the gospel that I've had all my life. From my earliest memories, I can remember loving to go to church, going with mother as she fulfilled her assignments in Relief Society, always performing acts of service. My life was truly blessed and influenced by loving parents and siblings. Just know, when things get hard, that Heavenly Father is aware of each of you, and that you are all in my prayers every day. Isn't it ironic that Dad complained about his fellow '58 classmates not being able to use computers and then was himself unable to click the large orange "PUBLISH POST" button in order to get his blogs on the net? I found that funny.

As for Dad's comments about the Runnin' Rebels, the coach is a straight shooter. Three players were either kicked off the team or left the team because of character issues - which Lon Krueger, the coach, does not put up with. So the team is not on probation. Also, our players' wives' don't cuss at and assault opposing teams' fans unlike Lee Cummard's stupid wife.

Corbin and Kenz will be in town this weekend which should be really fun. We haven't seen Wyatt in a while so it will be fun to see how he has grown. We'll probably play airsoft and go shooting.

First of all, that is a great pic of Garrett! He looks like a natural. I just had an interview with a law clerk for a judge to do somework over the summer. I hope that I get it because I am the only one he is interviewing so that means if I don't get it, he will have thought that having no one is better than having me:( But I feel good about it. My work will entail writing memos for the judge and handling motions. I hope I am up to it - it will be really good experience for me!

Ok, so I hit enter at the wrong time and lost my blog. Thanks to Andrea it was found. Mom and I did the walk again tonight. She is really doing good. She is walking faster and with fewer rests. The father and sons trip is taking shape. We are headed to San Francisco because Greg's time is limited. Arrive August 8th in the evening and leave August 12th. I can't believe they charge $49.00 a day to park. We may stay in a Motel 6 in South San Francisco and take the BART. It looks like the Dodgers will be playing the Giants on August 9th in the evening and we are working on tickets for that. We will probably just eat and hang out and go to the zoo and tease the tigers. We are headed to Andrea's and Grant's over General Conference weekend. It will be a nice break in our busy schedules.

Greg Garrett Family in Provo Weekend

So my family was in town this weekend and I really enjoyed seein them. Mason and my dad had a lacrosse tournament (it was JV so tanner wasn't involved) so they came up on thurs and my mom, sadie, and tanner came friday. I showed them the great stuff in provo, like J-dogs (the hotdog stand by campus), smart cookie, Plato's Closet, and much much more i can't even describe. Grandpa's retirement dinner was really fun and a lot of the family got to meet Ryan (jaylon's dad). He was way cool and nice and was surprisingly good at remembering everyone's name. He seems like a cool guy and i'm excited to have him in the family (this summer yes?) Well that is that, fun weekend with fam, not much new!!

OK THIS IS ANDREA I AM POSTING THIS BLOG FOR MOM AND DAD CAUSE THEY THOUGHT THEY LOST IT, BUT THE BLOG IS ALL POWERFUL AND IT AUTOMATICALLY SAVES DRAFTS-SO IT LOOKS LIKE THIS POST ENDS ABRUPTLY-SO THAT'S WHY. Mom and I are back from our walk. Two days in a row we are really cooking. Now to our third day of the same leftovers from having the elders for dinner on Monday. The weather is nice and the hills are green. It is a great time to be in Paso Robles. My high school class if trying to put together a 50 year reunion so since I don't have enough to do and since I am the only one who has maintained any kind of address list I am trying to gather email addresses. Hello class of 1958 do you know how to say computer. One of my classmates says he can't open an Excel spreadsheet. I think we are in big trouble. I called one of my old friends and asked if I had the correct number. He asked me how many people did I know with a name like his. I told him there were three of him on Yahoo people search so I figured he was the one living in Salem, UT. Who else would live in Salem, UT. Work is going fine. It will be nice to have a break. We get Good Friday off thanks to our Catholic owners. I bought the book 1776 which Mom is reading first. She says it is really a good book. It is about the beginning of our nation, the revolutionary war, how our nation overcame incredible odds to beat the Brits. Hooray for the colonies. All I can say about the Runnin Rebels is that they will probably be on probation soon for recruiting violations, or are the still on probation because of Tark the Shark.

Ok so Lost....Michael? Did he lose his memory or was he just acting weird cause the guy was right there? Well we know that Sun is the last of the 6 right? Are we up to 6? So what was up with that flash forward? Was it a simultaneous flashback with Jin-or did he get his memory erased and they told Sun he's dead? We know they can erase memories because remember the skinny bearded dude? When they showed his flash forward a few weeks ago he was crying when the plane was discovered and he didn't know why? And Penelope's dad? whoa crazy. We're moving in like a month-I'm excited. I guess out new ward is super young-young Bishopric, 3 nurserys, huge primary-so i'm guessing it will be like a married ward at BYU. Ca;'s crying gotta go Andrea

Go Rebels!!!

What an amazing job by the 2008 Mountain West Conference Tournament Champion Runnin' Rebels of UNLV!!! They overcame the Cougars of BYU by dominating them, 76 to 61. Let's just remember that UNLV's tallest player is 6'7" But also hats off to the Cougars who are a good team. Funny, of Mom and Dad's 4 college graduates, 1 is a Cougar, 1 is a Ute, and 2 - yes 2 are Rebels! Also, Michelle K, Alison, and Andrea have told me on seperate occasions that they wished that they had gone to UNLV. Keep it up, Rebs!

Well, I made it through the week. I'm glad it's over. It was actually kind of fun. I enjoyed being around the youth and hearing their testimonies. Now we have basketball starting this week and none of us (the leaders) know the rules in basketball and we are supposed to ref. Say what! Adam's mustache looks so awesome I want to grow one. And what's up with those hearts coming out of the tree onto Andrea's pictures?

I preface this post with the suggestion that you read it (or think it) with the voice of Will Ferrell's character, Ron Burgandy from Anchorman (who, coincidently, also had a 'stache).

There comes a time in every man's life when he really needs to just 'stache it for a while - something that Dad, Unlce Bruce, Uncle Mike, and others know all about. Some 'stache it for a little too long (Bruce), others get out of the 'stache game right at their peak (good job, Dad), and some look to the future, hoping that there will one day be a thick, classy, bushy, curly 'stache on their upper lip (me). Nothing brings a smile to my face quicker than when I think about one of Dad's sweet stories about the many good ol' days of stachin' . . . It's a good thing Mom tied the knot with Dad in his pre-'stache days because if Dad had still been single when his awesome patch of sweetness grew in - watch out, Dad! - there's a lady-storm rollin' in!

So here is my salute to that special time in a man's life:
